In a small village surrounded by green hills and dense forests, there was a lake known as Blue Lake. The lake was not only famous for its crystal-clear water that reflected the blue of the sky but also for the magical stories that adorned its past. It was said that the lake was a place where sincere prayers could be granted.

In the village lived a simple man named Arman with his seven-year-old son, Bima. Arman was a carpenter whose work was uncertain. Since his wife passed away from illness, Arman had to work hard to raise Bima on his own. Although they lived in simplicity, Arman always tried to provide the best for his son, even if it meant enduring difficult days.

One bright morning, Arman decided to take Bima fishing at Blue Lake. Bima was very excited because it was his first time going fishing. He jumped with joy as his father brought the fishing gear, bait, and a small basket for the fish.

“Dad, if we catch a big fish, I want to eat grilled fish, okay?” Bima exclaimed cheerfully.

Arman smiled, ruffling his son's hair. “Of course, son. We’ll have grilled fish together tonight.”

They set off early in the morning. The sun was just starting to rise on the eastern horizon, illuminating the small village with warm light. The atmosphere around the lake was so peaceful, with only the sound of birds and the rustling wind touching the water's surface. Arman and Bima sat by the lake, holding their fishing rods. Arman watched his son enthusiastically trying to cast his hook into the water. Despite failing several times, Bima didn’t give up, and Arman patiently taught him.

“The important thing is to be patient, Bima,” Arman said. “Fishing takes patience. Sometimes we have to wait a long time for the fish to come close to the bait.” . The day felt long. The sun rose higher, and despite hours of waiting, they hadn’t caught a single fish. Bima began to look bored, but Arman didn’t want to give up.

“Dad, why aren’t the fish biting our bait?” Bima asked, a hint of disappointment in his voice.

“Maybe they’re not hungry today,” Arman replied with a smile. “But don’t worry. We’re still having fun, right?”

Bima nodded, though his face still looked a bit gloomy. Arman decided to move to a quieter side of the lake. They sat under a large, shady tree, and this time, Arman tried casting his hook himself. Before long, suddenly Arman’s hook felt heavy. He slowly began to pull it in.

“Bima, look! This might be a big fish!” Arman exclaimed excitedly.

Bima jumped up, his eyes sparkling. “Hurry, Dad, pull it in!”

Arman carefully pulled, and slowly something emerged from the water. But how surprised they were when it wasn’t a fish, but a small, rusty chest. The chest looked very old, as if it had been submerged at the bottom of the lake for a long time. Bima stared at the chest with wide eyes.

“Dad, what is this? A treasure?” he asked eagerly.

Arman cautiously opened the chest. Inside, they found a small bag of gold coins, some seemingly valuable jewelry, and a piece of old paper that was almost torn to shreds. Arman stood silent for a moment, unable to believe what he was seeing.

“This… this is really a treasure,” he murmured, his voice trembling.

Bima jumped up and down in excitement. “Dad, we’re rich! We can buy lots of grilled fish!”

Arman smiled, but his heart was still filled with disbelief. He decided to take the chest home and examine its contents further. At home, he cleaned the coins and jewelry one by one. After ensuring everything was genuine, Arman realized the treasure was worth a lot—enough to change their lives forever.

Wisely, Arman didn’t immediately spend the treasure. He used some of it to repair their almost-collapsing home, bought decent clothes and food for Bima, and saved most of the money in the bank. He also started a small business, a carpentry shop that thrived due to his skill in making furniture.

Arman and Bima’s lives slowly changed. They no longer struggled for food, and Bima could attend a better school. However, even after becoming wealthy, Arman remained humble. He never forgot their difficult times and always taught Bima to be grateful for everything they had.

A few years later, Arman’s carpentry shop became one of the biggest businesses in the town. He even opened branches in other cities. Now, Arman was not just a loving father but also a successful entrepreneur respected by many. Yet, behind all his success, he often took Bima fishing at Blue Lake.

“This lake has brought us good fortune,” Arman said one day when they returned there. “But most importantly, this lake reminds us to always be patient and believe that good things will come in time.”

Bima, now a teenager, smiled and looked at his father with pride. They cast their lines into the water, waiting patiently just like before, enjoying the priceless time together.

And under the bright blue sky, by the shores of Blue Lake reflecting the sunlight, their happiness felt complete.
